Celebrating Women’s Day at Chowk, Uttan.

  Chowk at Uttan celebrated women's day on the 13th of March, 2018 . Around 400 women gathered for the celebration which was planned and organised by the community animators under the guidance of CSA & Centre for Community Organization (CCO). The women put their best efforts to make this program a success which was seen through their brilliant performances.  Women were welcomed with a tilak on their forehead – a mark of respect. The program mainly consisted of skits, songs and dances. The core committee animators prepared and sang a song based on the three social problems of the village. The first part was based on the unemployment of youth, the second on sewage mess around the sea shore and the third on exploitation of ignorant fisher folk by middle men. Bal Sansad Creates Awareness On Communal Harmony

After the interaction session on communal harmony the Bal Sansad children’s group decided to present a skit to the children of other faith on 27 th January 2018 at Manthanpada. These were the tribal children from the English Literacy Class.The objective was to spread the message of communal harmony amongst the villagers. The ideas on the topic were given and through guidance the children took the initiative and prepared a street play. With the prior permission of Manthanpada’s English Literacy Class, Balsansad visited the Bastis. They welcomed the thirty children gathered, and after a brief introduction on the topic the skit began. The children created awareness on harmony with one another through this skit. The play also gave the children from the village an opportunity to come as a group and witness the activity and performance of Bal Sansad. Children have become aware on respecting people from backgrounds of all faith and live in harmony.
