Balsansad Concept Clarification 6th to 23rd June 2018

Manori CSA with the help of CCO staff had a concept clarity session on Bal Sansad at Uttan, Dongri, Pali, Manori, Chowk and Gorai to form new batches for the current academic year 2018-19. These sessions took place from the 6 th  to the 13 th  of June 2018 and 12 - 40 children from various zones participated. Through different games and group activities they discussed the basics of the concept and the expected duties and responsibilities. The resource person interacted with the children and explained that by joining a Bal Sansad they would have opportunities to participate in various activities and through that develop their personality, improve communication skills, respect the view of others, build a sense of responsibility, enhance their general knowledge, etc. Further, the children were asked to suggest the activities that they wanted to be included in the sessions. Combined report on Follow up of ration issue at Pali June 2018

On the 4 th and 11 th of June 2018 a rationing officer, two sub inspectors and one secretary paid verification visit to the needy card holders whose application had been submitted in month of March 2018 to the ration office at Bhayander. They came to the ward at Pali, and met the 36 card holders’ houses and verified that all of them were eligible for the BPL stamp. They asked the cardholders to enroll the Aadhar numbers for completing the process. A total of 126 application forms were collected for BPL stamps out of which 120 application were verified along with ration card & are in process of Aadhar link (Biometric System). They have assured the CC and the SC members present, to give 120 card holders the BPL stamp by the end of July 2018.

Exposure visit to Pali by Para Professional Social Workers. 17.05.2018

On 17 th May 2018, 7 Para professional social workers from Nirmala Niketan visited CSA’s networking partner Sahajeevan Social Centre   Pali. The objectives to this exposure visit was to give a historical background about the Centre, to orient the objectives and goals of Pali CCO, to share the administrative hierarchy, various activities and programmes, to share the difficulties and barriers, to explain the strategies and skills used for implementing activities and the role of a social worker. An interactive session was held where discussions on health issues, irregularity in water supply, uncleanliness and lack of information on rationing issues were carried on by the core committee members. At the end of the interaction our social worker described the role of social worker. Report On Ration Issue Follow Up 14.05.2018

Shortlisting form for BPL stamp for most desrving card holders On 14 th May 2018, a visit to the ration office was held at Bhayander. CCO staff member and 4 CC members were present. The objective of selecting the remaining 47 forms for most deserving card holders to avail the Below Poverty Line (BPL) stamp and to get cooperation from the ration officers to solve the ration issue for the most needful beneficiaries at Pali Village was to be fulfilled.   CCO staff & CC member in ration shop The people below the poverty line lack access to many facilities as well as basic needs, most importantly food. The ration officers had decided to give 120 beneficiaries the BPL stamp. This will help them gain certain basic provisions provided by the government. Bal Sansad’s Interaction With The Police Sub Inspector (PSI) 10.05.2018

An interactive session was held between the (PSI) and the Bal Sansad members on 10th May 2018. 22 participants from Pali and 10 from Chowk attended this session. The Police Patil of Pali Village. the CCO & CSA staff were also present for the meet. The structure and law pertaining to remand home and information about the activities carried on in the remand home were briefly discussed by the PSI. He explained with examples about the remand home and the reason of their establishment for a Juvenile delinquent. He said that a Remand Home is a place where a person who has been arrested and charged with a criminal offence until their trial is detained. It is an observation home for the Juvenile Delinquent where changes are brought in the behavior of these juveniles. Report of CC Monthly Meeting 11.04.2018

The monthly meeting of the core committee (CC) at Pali was held on 11 th April 2018. Twenty nine members attended this meeting. The agenda and planning for future activities was discussed. The CC members gladly mentioned they could understand the concept of fundraising more clearly after their visit to Gorai and Chowk and have learnt to face struggles and oppositions firmly and courageously. The meeting included a follow up on the 3 main issues such as water, cleanliness, and ration and a discussion on wall painting in order to create awareness on the issues.   The follow up on the water issues is in process with the M.B.M.C authority for building new bore-well and cleaning the well. They promised to get 2 government wells cleaned by the mid of May and build a bore well at the compound nearby for public use by the end of May. Free Medical Checkup For The Youth, Men And Women At Pali

After a lot of planning, CSA in collaboration with its networking partner Sahajeevan Samaj Kendra and Sunshine Trust NGO decided to hold a medical campaign at Surya Niketan Hospital, Pali on 20 th Jan 2018 for the free detection of throat and breast cancer as well as create awareness on the issue. The campaign focused mainly on the men, women, and youth of Pali village. The director of Sunshine Trust contacted the doctors of Tata memorial hospital to give free checkup for the beneficiaries at Pali.   Before the clinical examination one of the doctors gave an awareness talk on throat & breast cancer. She explained, Cancer is one of the harshest diseases that a person can contract. It is extremely difficult to treat. The conditions in which people live, work, and their lifestyles, influence their health and quality of life. Core Committee Monthly Meeting Report Pali 7.02.2018

The Core committee monthly meeting facilitated by CSA was held at Pali on 7 th Feb 2018 with 19 CC members & CCO present. The main objective was to plan, decide and allot responsibilities for women’s day, evaluate on three issues with the 3 subcommittees and allot responsibilities among CC members for ration camp. The meeting began with reading the previous minutes report and the agenda was discussed in detail with the CC members. 8 th March was decided as the day to celebrate women’s day. The theme chosen was based on the three main issues of Pali village in East Indian language namely “Dur karavachya Han aaplya gavachya adchani, pahilya ghetlyan smasysa ration, aarogya aani Pani”. Bal Sansad Drawing Competition On Issues At Pali 26.01.2018

On the 26 th January 2018, a session on drawing competition was held at Pali for 28 Bal Sansad children. The session began with the CCO staffs explaining the children the purpose for drawing on the three chosen issues of Pali village. These were namely, Uncleanliness & health issue, irregular water supply and lack of information on ration issues. The Bal Sansad were then made to understand the important roles each of them can play in creating awareness and as a result help solving these issues. It was decided that these drawing would be displayed at the church premises and on public places to create awareness amongst people of all religions. Three student volunteers from St. Xaviers College was present for this session and helped to monitor the drawing competition. Awareness on Cleanliness At Pali.

In order to create awareness of uncleanliness among the people of Pali village, the members of the subcommittee for uncleanliness decided to request banners and posters from the Nagar Sevak of M.B.M.C- cleanliness department. They also decided to fix a common place for the youth to display the banners. A letter requesting the Nagar Sevak to provide the banners and posters was sent on the 23 rd January 2018 and in two days the subcommittee members received a positive reply. Eight big size posters were sent to the Pali CCO office. On 26 th January after the flag hosting programme, an announcement to create awareness through posters and banners was made. Youth members volunteered themselves to display the Awareness posters at common places in eight wards of the village.  The villagers were enthused at the willingness and cooperation of the Nagar Sevak and the involvement of youth to display banners and posters at common public places.

Monthly Meeting Report of Core Committee & Issues Subcommittees 11.01.2018

On 11 th January 2018 a meeting was held at Pali with the CC & three issues subcommittees along with the CSA staff. A total of thirty people were present for the meeting to plan for the execution of various tasks. The chair person was the president of CC. The meeting began with reading previous meeting report by the CC secretary and preceded by two members.
