Follow Up Report On Rationing Issue 20.04.2018

At ration office Submitting forms to rationkruti   The CC (core committee) & SC (subcommittee) members along with the CCO staffs visited the ration office at Bhayander to submit their forms for the ration issue. On 20th March four members of the CC had a brief discussion with the ration officer on the issues they faced. The officer promised them of permitting the BPL (below poverty line) stamps for 100 card holders. The CCO staffs gave some of the members the responsibility of preparing a list of approximately 15 card holders from each ward who needs the BPL stamp on their ration cards.   The last day for the submission of the list of 100 names was declared to be 18th April 2018. With this the people are now aware of 60% of their rights of Food Security Act 2013.

Women’s day celebration at Manori

On the 13 th March 2018, 500 women gathered at Manori to celebrate International Women’s Day. The theme for the evening was “ Ekot yeun sagli chala karuya san sohalyamni kharch kami” which means ‘Let’s come together as one and work towards reducing unnecessary expenses’. The celebration was planned and executed by the community animators under the guidance of CSA & Centre for Community Organization (CCO). A group was formed for various activities like welcome dance, tea & snacks, stage management, finance team etc. After the lighting of the lamp where the lamp symbolizes light, the opening song and a skit based on the theme was performed by the core committee members. The chief guest spoke briefly on the theme and created awareness on how to curb unnecessary expenditures. The audience enjoyed the traditional East Indian and koli dance performed by the women. Celebrating Women’s Day at Chowk, Uttan.

  Chowk at Uttan celebrated women's day on the 13th of March, 2018 . Around 400 women gathered for the celebration which was planned and organised by the community animators under the guidance of CSA & Centre for Community Organization (CCO). The women put their best efforts to make this program a success which was seen through their brilliant performances.  Women were welcomed with a tilak on their forehead – a mark of respect. The program mainly consisted of skits, songs and dances. The core committee animators prepared and sang a song based on the three social problems of the village. The first part was based on the unemployment of youth, the second on sewage mess around the sea shore and the third on exploitation of ignorant fisher folk by middle men. The chief guest encouraged the women to help their children study as far and wide as possible. He also provided knowledge on beneficial bank schemes and asked the women to involve themselves in these financial sa
