For the 18 Domestic Workers from Manori the Session on Good Health and Nutrition along with information on available Home Remedies was really an eye opener. The Resource Person for the Session on the 6th August 2017 was Dr. Tejeswini Lanjekar who made this learning so simple and easy and she kept the interest of the women till the end.

She spoke on three points:
1. Types of Diseases - she explained the different types of diseases and the conditions in which a person could get infected and how one could prevent oneself from these situations.
2. Nutrition - she shared so clearly on how one could avoid junk food and have a nutritious intake take could be easily prepared at home, thereby maintaining good health.
3. Home Remedies - she shared on available home remedies for elementary sicknesses like the common cold, cough, blood pressure, fever and other similar illnesses.

Many questions were raised by women and were aptly answered by the resource person who made the interaction and the session so interesting with examples and suggestions. The women definitely went home with a feeling that they have obtained not only some basic information but they need to update their knowledge on simple elementary illnesses. They were also motivated on eating nutritious food and using home remedies initially when symptoms of sicknesses were visible.
