Pali Bal Sansad elects the Council of Ministers

The Pali Bal Sansad Group (36 children) met on the 25th August, 2017 at the CCO from 10.30am to 12 noon with the purpose of giving a name for their Bal Sansad Group, to choose the Council of Ministers and explain the duties and responsibilities of the various Ministries and the Ministers who would be responsible. 

 Ms. Carol began the meeting with a short prayer and welcomed the participants. Sr. Nisha explained the objectives of the meeting. Then she asked the children to suggest an attractive name for the Balsansad. Few names were suggested by them but the more inspiring name was “Hope Children’s Group” decided by the children. She then explained the concept of children’s parliament and their activities. 

 Through a process of voting by show of  hands, the following Council of Ministers were chosen:

  • Monitor-1
  • President  & Vice President -2
  • Secretary & Vice Secretary-2
  • Finance Minister- 3
  • Cultural Minister-3
  • Education Minister-4
  • Health Minister-4
  • Social Minister-8
  • Environment Minister- 6
  • Communication Minister-4
  • Sports Minister-3

Ms. Rasika asked the chosen ministers to come forward one by one and she then explained the duties and responsibility of each minister in brief and simplified words. All the ministers understood their duties and accepted willingly the responsibility. 

The Sponsored snacks were distributed to the children. The meeting ended with a thanks giving prayer by Sr. Nisha.

Request For Repairing And Building New Drainages At Chowk 23.11.2017

Fourteen subcommittee members assembled for a meeting at Chowk on the 23 rd November 2017  for repairs of drainages and a request to build new drainages. The objective of the meeting was to sort out these issue with the help of the people. Information of all the drainages in the village was collected to get a clear picture of the problem. Some drainages were left open while in some water was being wasted. The water from such drainages would run through the main road due to which people would   find it difficult to walk. Few drainages were filled with waste while others kept on leaking. An application was written to the official requesting them to repair and build some new drainages in the village. The work has begun and is already in progress in the zones 2-B and 7 along with zone debris being carried away. There has also been a gathering at the village to create awareness on cleanliness. The result of which is 2 nd October would be observed as ‘Cleaning Day’.

21st Sept,2017-Bal Sansad Session-Food Security Act

On 21 st Sep, 2017, between 10.30 am to 12.30 pm the Bal Sansad Session for Food Security Act started with the Bal Sansad prayer, at the Gorai Church Hall addressing a group of 45 children. Ms. Nasim the speaker for the session welcomed everyone, followed by ice breakers games. The children were divided into 4 groups where they had to introduce themselves, and each child was given a different type of chocolate. Subsequently, Ms. Nasim questioned them about their Basic needs & Rights, who fulfilled their needs and who is responsible for it. Children gave various answers for these question. Following which Ms. Nasim explained them the importance of food for our body. Input & Interaction Session On Indian Constitution 23.11.2017

The input session on the Indian Constitution and its importance was held at Church Hall, Pali on the 23 rd of November 2017 for 41 Bal Sansad children. The resource people for the session were CCO staffs Sr. Nisha, Ms. Carol and CSA staff Ms. Rasika. The session began with an ice breaker game. An introduction and basic information on the Preamble of the Indian Constitution was shared. Furthermore, the topic on election & representation was explained in a simple manner with adequate knowledge of who and where one can vote, what is the democracy procedure to elect a good responsible and sincere candidate. An interaction session was held with a set of questions being asked and exercises were given in order to help the children remember the important terms in the Preamble and ensure they understood the subject matter.
