Realizing the Importance of Saving Money - Manori D.Wkrs 7-9-2017

On the 7th September 2017 Savdhan Samaj Kendra, Manori organized the Financial Literacy training for Domestic Worker group. Total 11 domestic workers participated. Ms Suvarna Bandya welcomed to all. Then after Ms Snehal Patil -CCO staff led the group discussion on following topics:
  •    What is Saving?
  •    Importance of saving
  •   How they spend their money in daily activities/ monthly expenses.


After the group discussion, Ms Rasika Bhandari –CSA staff explained identifying the difference between the needs, wants, vices (Bad habit).

She also explained the 4 types of account, required documents while opening account in a bank, how to filled the cheque & deposit slip.

Some precaution have suggested to domestic worker while dealing with bank.
  •   Do not share personal banking related details such as account number, password etc. with unknown.
  •     Always give priority to save money in nationalized bank,
  •     Always give priority to do cheque payment.
  •     As per requirement take a loan from Bank
  •    Maintain daily expense dairy & analysis where we spent money and will accordingly plan money management.

Pali Bal Sansad - "Hope" taking initiatives in Planning

“Hope”, the Children’s Balsansad meeting was held on 26 th Aug. 2017 at 11 am. The meeting began with a short prayer by Ms. Carol who then welcomed the participants. The secretary of Children’s group read the previous meeting report which was accepted and agreed by all. Sr. Nisha appreciated her for writing the report briefly in which all agenda points were in the report. Sr. Nisha started the session with an example on the topic of good manners and discipline in a story form. Children have understood well. The moral of the story was that each person’s behavior and personality is on good manners showing respect for the elders, teachers, and parents and also own classmate. A well-disciplined life will help to facilitate communication with others; they allow you to get much more than by using authority. Dongri Village identify Issues to be addressed 18th Sept, 2017

The residents of Dongri Village (around 50 villagers) gathered together for a Village meeting on the 18th Sept, 2017 at Dongri Sabhagruha with an objective to reflect on the issues faced by the village, understand their current situation and the reason for it and to work out a resolve them.  The meeting began with a prayer by Mr. Stephan Borges. He began by mentioning about the work undertaken by Prerna Seva Kendra (Dongri CCO) and the work initiated by the Core Committee. Mr. Dayanand stressed on the need and importance of the village to come together to identify and discuss issues faced by them.  Mr. Harold Borges the Gavki Patil shared on the issues faced by the village.
