Overall Objective:

To conduct five
input sessions and interaction session with Balsansad.

To get together
and learn from one another and build self confidence.

To give an
opportunity for children’s talents.

On 16th Oct. the first day of the camp the registration of children was
done by the president of Balsansad. The camp began with small prayer by CCO staff.
Fr. Sandeep Borges the resource person highlighted on the topic called Responsible
leadership & Facilitation becoming Animators. Throughout the games &
interactions he explained how one can be responsible or. Facilitators. He had divided children into four groups as
St. Peter, St. Anthony, St. Teresa and St. John. He assigned the task through questioner
like who can be a good leader? What you
feel that leader should do for you? Later he interacted with children how the
good facilitator should be? Good facilitators are a good communicator,
respecting the views of other members in the group; he/she is a good planner,
optimistic, sincere to the given task, approachable, good general knowledge,
sense of humor, responsible etc.
Outcome: children have understood that whatever good values
we imbibed from childhood that will be useful to take responsibility for
greater thing in future.
On
the same day afternoon session was on “education way of life” by the resource
person Bro. Melborn. He began his session with Blind fold game. He made into
two groups to activate these games, like in the group directing the blind to
reach his / her destiny. The moral of this game was to help, educate & give
direction to the needy. The way we educate the good things remains for life.
Education is an important tool till the end of our life. It’s a best way of
weapons to shape our future. He made four groups for interaction and each group
had asked questions separately, such as what’s worth learning in school? Why do
we need to know education? Why education is very important? Why one has to go to school he/she can attend
classes anywhere in the world while sitting at home?
Outcome: learning is a continuous process. Education is the
best weapon for life.
On
17th Oct. 2017 the second day of the camp began with small prayer by
CCO staff. Ms Sanjina Bhandari- Sneha Jyot CCO staff, Uttan. The resource
person highlighted on the topic called gender discrimination- in respected with
women. She has explained gender discrimination, in simple words. Gender
discrimination is a word where there is in equality between male & female
and that we see in the society as a weaker sex.
In olden days the discrimination was mainly with the women in the house
they were degraded, exploited & violated of fundamental rights of women. She
displayed two video clipping namely “Meena” which showed the forms of
discrimination in the family & in the society. The other video clipping on “Muskan” was
female feceticide. But the other side of both the videos clipping was girls and
boys are equal, they have equal rights to live, to educate.
Outcome: children said that they will respect of girls &
boys in their families & school.
On
the same day afternoon session was on “Food Security Act & Rights” by the
resource person Ms. Nasim Kasughar- Suryodaya CCO staff, Gorai. She explained the basic need of human being
i.e food, clothing & shelter, education, health. All these basic needs are provided by parents,
government, Doctor, teacher etc. Every person need to have nutritious food for
the better health. She conducted group
discussion with questioner like do you know in our family which type of ration
card is used? What type of Mid Day Meal we get in the school? Do we waste food
at home and at school? She explained the food security act. She gave the
information that mid day meal is provided by the government to the aided
school. These are given to children in the age of 6 to 14 years. Mid day meal
is right to food.
Outcome: children
have realized that the importance of food. They have promised that henceforth
they will take care to consume food as per their requirement. They know the four
types of ration card namely Antodaya, Saffron, white, and yellow. Children came to know helpline number of
Nutritious food i.e 1800-11-4000.
On
18th Oct. 2017 the third day of the camp began with small prayer by
Balsansad president. Ms Snehal Patil the resource person from Savdhaan CCO, Manori.
in She highlighted on the topic called “Communal Harmony” .She said that
“Communal Harmony” all religions have rights to practice their worship, each
religion has their own faith & belief system to practice in their own way.
She showed the video clipping on “Four Religions Monoact” in that Hindu,
Muslim, and Shikh & Christen. Each one has tried to make their own god but
humanity is great religion the world. In this Monoact the social worker tries
to bring all religion together and explains the strengths of unity and harmony.
Outcome: children have decided to perform the same skit in
purposeful action visit in Bastis.
On
the same day afternoon the session “Wastes out Of Best” to encourage children
to bring out their talents. So children were made into four groups and asked
them to find out waste materials in surrounding and to make out of it best
creativity. Three outsider judges were appointed for examine their
creativity. Best prize was given to the
St. Teresa group. Three groups performed in Dance competition and St. Peter and
St. Anthony got the prizes.
Conclusion:
Children have learned that basically a system of education which utilizes what
we have; and cater to the need of the humanity today and tomorrow. Education will
teach us for long life.
In
three days full day camp covered five sessions according to the plan and
interactions. Various games, entertainment program and snacks, food were
arranged by the CCO staff. The core
committee members helped to prepare the food for three days.
