Core Committee Meeting For Issue Discussion & Women’s Day Preparation At Manori CCO

On 22nd Feb 2018 a core committee meeting was held at Manori. The first objective was to evaluate the follow up work done on open drainage issue, secondly to finalize on the next issue and lastly to plan and distribute the responsibilities for Women’s Day celebration.

After the previous minutes of the meeting was read the CCO staff explained the procedure of the Right to Information (RTI). A set of information lacking and questionnaires were prepared which needed an answer. For example, the approximate duration by which the drainage work would be completed, the sanctioned budget for this project, etc. One of the CC members took the responsibility to even find out the information of road repair through RTI.

Villagers were requesting for the frequency of ferry’s to be increased between Manori to Bhayander. As this issue was majorly solved, the committee decided to take up the next issue that needed attention. The members commonly agreed to solve the issue of ‘insufficient facility of Government dispensary.’ They chose to begin by collecting the basic information.

The date for women’s day was finalized for 13th March 2018 and theme chosen was ‘Ekot yevun chala karuya langna sohlyat kharch kami’. It means, we shall come together as one and reduce celebration expenses.  It was decided that Bal Sansad would do the welcoming and the prayer dance. One of the zones would present a skit based on the issues faced by the villagers at Pali. Responsibilities for speeches and anchoring were allotted and teams for snacks, stage arrangements, program management was formed.

There was an active participation of the members in the meeting for the planning and discussion. They willingly took interest and responsibility to involve other women in the cultural programme. The CC members voluntarily formed teams and are participating in it.
