Physical Exercise Yoga & Meditation for Bal Sansand Group at Pali 01,02,2018

A session on Physical Exercise Yoga & Meditation was held on the 1st Feb 2018 for 35 Bal Sansad children at Pali. The Input session for Bal Sansand group began with HathaYoga meditation for ten minutes by the resource person Sr. Nisha, CCO staff.  The objective of the session was to foster a serene and cultivate an awareness of the present moment in the minds of the children. The objective was also to help the children understand the importance of physical exercise as a part of life.

The topic was briefly explained. The resource person emphasized on Physical exercise, its importance & benefits that Yoga is one of the best techniques and practices, which can help a person to integrate mind, body and spirit, to achieve a state of enlightenment with the universe. She focused on how Yoga can help improve their concentration. Sr. Nisha first explained the importance of physical exercise and its ten benefits. Daily Physical exercises can help to decrease fats in the body, make the bones strong, smoothen skin, relax the mind, and relieves stress and tension.

At the beginning of the session children found it very difficult to sit quietly for 10 minutes as their minds were restless. After the explanation on exercise and meditation, they cultivated an attentive mind and were able to sit peacefully and enjoy the exercises.

On 15 th Sep 2017, 28 members assembled at Durado Hall Uttan for the Core Committee and sub leaders meeting. In the previous month’s meeting leaders were appointed, and as per the responsibilities allotted all completed their work. The meeting was facilitated by the leader of the Core Committee.  Various issues which were already listed in family group meetings were presented by the leaders at the session. In all there were 29 issues out of which three main issues were prioritized like Low fish rates, Stray Dogs and high expenses during celebrations. Based on this, three subcommittees were formed and leaders were assigned. They decided to meet again next week for work to progress quickly. There was an active and healthy participation from members. The group showed interest in taking responsibilities and were happy to work on the issues.

Dongri Village identify Issues to be addressed 18th Sept, 2017

The residents of Dongri Village (around 50 villagers) gathered together for a Village meeting on the 18th Sept, 2017 at Dongri Sabhagruha with an objective to reflect on the issues faced by the village, understand their current situation and the reason for it and to work out a resolve them.  The meeting began with a prayer by Mr. Stephan Borges. He began by mentioning about the work undertaken by Prerna Seva Kendra (Dongri CCO) and the work initiated by the Core Committee. Mr. Dayanand stressed on the need and importance of the village to come together to identify and discuss issues faced by them.  Mr. Harold Borges the Gavki Patil shared on the issues faced by the village. Pali Bal Sansad elects the Council of Ministers

The Pali Bal Sansad Group (36 children) met on the 25th August, 2017 at the CCO from 10.30am to 12 noon with the purpose of giving a name for their Bal Sansad Group, to choose the Council of Ministers and explain the duties and responsibilities of the various Ministries and the Ministers who would be responsible.  Ms. Carol began the meeting with a short prayer and welcomed the participants. Sr. Nisha explained the objectives of the meeting. Then she asked the children to suggest an attractive  name for the Balsansad. Few names were suggested by them but the more inspiring name was “Hope Children’s Group ” decided by the children.
